071106-N-7981E-567 Pacific Ocean (November 6, 2007)- Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class John Parkowski removes chocks and chains from an SH-60B Seahawk assigned to "Saberhawks" Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 47 as it takes off from Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86). Shoup and the rest of Carrier Strike Group Nine, including Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and ships from the Canadian Navy are underway off the coast of Southern California participating in Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), an exercise designed to enhance the interoperability of the strike group.
