080711-N-7981E-204 North Arabian Sea (July 11, 2008)- Chief Gunner's Mate Michael Spofford, assigned to Helicopter Visit Board Search and Seizure (HVBSS) Team 2, keeps his weapon trained on a non-compliant suspect as he is detained and searched during tactical movement training held on the fantail of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Lincoln is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to support Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom as well as Maritime Security Operations (MSO). Operations in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
