Granite Night Lizard - Xantusia Henshawi - These flattened lizards live almost exclusively in the crevices on granitic boulders. To quote the movie Tremors II, "If you want to hunt graboids (or lizards, snakes, etc...) you better know geology." This is the first time I've been able to photograph the species with its daytime coloration. The Granite Night Lizard photos I posted last year were shot at night, when the lizard turns a much lighter shade and its spots become much more separated and pronounced.
