California Striped Whipsnake - masticophis lateralis lateralis - A speedy lizard eater with binocular vision. Hard to catch and even harder to photograph, they are nonetheless one of my favorite snakes to see because of their active lifestyle and facial expression of intense badassedness. I am still searching for their bigger, badder cousin, the coachwhip.
