UAA Alumna Anne Freitag (AAS ‘85, BA ‘93, BS ‘98) and her husband Kevin Hall bring "Spike the T-Rex" to life during "T-Rex Story Time" at the Loussac Library. Freitag, who is a librarian at Special Education Service Agency in Anchorage, built Spike from new and recycled materials for Kevin to wear at the Miners and Trappers Ball almost a decade ago. The couple saw the suit's potential for education outreach and have since volunteered their time to bring Spike to local museums, elementary schools, and the Loussac Library. This is Spike's second year at Loussac's "T-Rex Story Time" and Freitag said library staff stopped counting after more than 600 visitors arrived Thursday to hear dinosaur stories and meet Spike.
